J & J Draperies

My precious precious mama made me some beautiful window treatments for my birthday.  I have wanted window treatments FOREVER!  I just didn't want to spend the money on them.  I mentioned it to my  mama and she said that she thought she could make them for you.  A little background on her, she is a very creative woman!  She used to smock all of mine and my sister's dresses when we were little.  I kid you not my closet back home is filled with smock dresses!  They look just like the dresses you find in boutiques.  Next time I am  back home I am going to take pics of some of the dresses she made for us.  With all that said, she is very talented with a needle, thread, and sewing machine.  I knew that she could do these curtains and that they would be more beautiful than I could imagine....and they are!  In July we went out one day and picked out the fabric and she took it home with her.  Her and my dad came in town this past weekend to get them hung before Foster comes.  My dad was a huge huge help with the curtains too!  He is a perfectionist and helped mama put them on the boards, measure, iron, hang, etc.  Whenever he retires, I am sure he will be kept busy with projects for Martha Jane, Kim and I.  We already have a few things that we want daddy to do.  He is an incredible handy man!  We laughed when they were here saying that when he retires that him and mama should go into business making curtains.  They could be called J & J draperies (Jan and John).  They make a great team but I am sure they are not for hire.  I am just one lucky girl to have them for parents!  With all of that said check out these before and after pictures.  It looks amazing!  It was extremely difficult to get clear pictures due to the natural sunlight coming in the windows.  I tried every way imaginable to get decent shots and these were the best I could get.  I am so in love with these!  Thanks mom and dad for all that you do to make your children happy!!!  Love you!

My baby Walker's First Day of First Grade

Wow, I can't believe how quickly time has flown.  My little man Walker started First grade on August 5th.  He has decided that he wants to ride the bus to and from school.  I am letting him and I know that he will probably change his mind soon.  The bus comes to pick him up at 6:50 so we are up early around the Pangle house at 6:00.   He gets home around 3 which is sooner than I could get home if he decided to be a car rider. It is working out nice especially with baby coming very soon!  He is LOVING first grade so far!  I am not sure what it is about this year but he is having the best attitude towards school!  He is doing wonderful and we hope that he keeps up the good work!  It just seems like yesterday that I was sending him to mothers morning out!  I love the little guy that he is becoming!  Walker, we hope that  you have a wonderful year being a first grader!  We love  you big boy!

Turning 30

On August 1st I turned 30.  Somehow we managed not getting any pics on my birthday.  We celebrated it by just hanging out together and going out to eat.  I kept telling Eric that I didn't want any kind of party at all.  I guess just being pregnant I would rather celebrate at a later time.  All I wanted to do was chill.  It was a wonderful day with the family!  People kept asking me if I felt any older and my answer was "of course".  I told everyone that they should ask me in 3 months and hopefully my answer then would be a no.  Of course I feel every bit of 30, at the time I was 8 1/2 months pregnant, in the dead of summer.  I actually felt like a 50 year old.  Not a good time to ask me that question.  However, I know that in a few months I will feel every bit of 25 again!!!

Styrofoam Fun

Henry literally sat here for an hour breaking the styrofoam into little pieces....yes, I had a mess b/c it really didn't make it into the bowl but someone had a ball!  That is all that mattered!
