Christmas at my parents aka Pop and Gran Jan

The weekend before Christmas we went to my parents to celebrate Christmas with them. We alternate years between my parents and Eric's parents.
This is a pic of the boys headed out to do a little sleding!

This picture is taken from my parents porch. I had fun acting like a photographer as you will see in the next few shots. Their house and yard is just beautiful. Looks like something out of a Southern Living magazine!!!!!! It is always so cozy and warm! Their back porch as you can see is just like another room in the house, we spend alot of time out there!

My grandma Walker, the boys great grandma came to have brunch and to exchange presents with us and the boys! We enjoyed spending the morning with her! She brought me a snipit(sp?) of her christmas catcus, in a beautiful pot that I will treasure forever. You can read more about the Christmas Catcus here http://bringinghometothecity.blogspot.com/2009/12/2nd-generation-christmas-cactus.html This is my sister Martha Jane who has started a blog and has a posting about the famous christmas catcus from our Grandma Walker

Of course when you are in Inman around Christmas time you have to go to the famous Hollywild Zoo to look at the Christmas lights!

This wig that Henry has on brought so much laughter this weekend. It really made us laugh everytime we saw one of us with it on! Just thinking about it makes me laugh! My dad wore this to the zoo that night and we rode in his big red truck! He acted completely normal and boy did we get some looks! Needless to say I was just a touch embarassed by it but loved that my daddy wore it without thinking twice. I do have a pic of him with it on but wasn't sure if he would want the blog world to see!

As you can see from the pictures, we had a blast! Everything was so much fun! The boys had the best time of their life sledding! To them it was great, they don't know any better. They actually were sledding really fast and super far. They loved going to hollywild and spending time with the family! It was such a great weekend! We had great food(tadpole especially), hot apple cider, coffee cakes galore, fudge, great weather, great gifts, and most importantly spending time with the family!!! Thanks mom and dad!
Here are a few videos of Henry trying to enter the x games. I wish I had my camera out the first time he tried to snowboard on the sled, it was much better then the video I got. And yes, that is the lake that you see him headed towards. Don't worry my dad and I were standing down there ready to catch them! Ha

Henry's Christmas Program

Henry did so good at his Christmas Program! He doesn't look too excited in the pictures, he was just taking it all in! He was so cute why he was standing up on stage, he kept waving at us sitting out in the congregation. He was really suprised that his Gran Jan was there! She had called me that morning at 8 and said that she was going to come to his program at 11. We were all glad to have her here to spend the day with us! She came back to the house and played with Henry while I was able to clean the house. It was so nice! I wouldn't know what to do if she actually lived in town!

The boys Chrstmas List

Walker's Christmas List

Well yeah, this is Walker's Christmas list. A dirt bike, 3,000 bux (bucks), and a Wii. Wow, Wow, Wow! He has added to the list but he wrote it at school and I do not have that copy. That list consist of the same three things, 8 puppies, a reindeer, a DS, a red bike, and a real hamster. So needless to say Santa can't bring most of the things on his list. Eric and I just think that this is too funny.
Henry's list consist of a 4 wheeler bike scooter, (whatever in the world that is), a puppy, power ranger, a snake, and food. His list is a little easier for Santa. They are getting pretty darn excited about Christmas! It is going to be so fun this year!

Visit with Santa

This year we went to Bass Pro Shop to visit Santa. It was amazing! First of all, there is no lines. You get a pass and you can walk around the store until they call your time and then you just walk up and they are waiting for you....Awesome. Second of all, there is so much to do in the store, we stayed in the store for 3 hours just looking and playing with things. Third of all, it is free! At the mall you are going to spend at least 25 dollars for a picture, not here it's free! We will definitely go here from now on. The boys did great with Santa! They were awesome! He was the Real Santa!!!!!

Thomas our Elf

This is our elf, Thomas. He is awesome to have around at christmas time! He flies to santa every night to report how the boys are behaving. He flies back sometime during the night and we have to go hunt for him every morning to find what crazy place he has landed. It is so much fun! Thomas likes to make a mess alot of the time. The day he got in my sugar bowl bugged me a little because I couldn't clean it up until the next day when he was in a new location. The first thing the boys do is go find Thomas when they get out of bed. We are going to miss him when he leaves us in a few days! He will be back next year!

Oops forgot these cute pics!

More pics of our visit with Tommy

Chris, Elizabeth and little Tommy Visit!!!!

We had such a fun visit with our friends Chris, Elizabeth and Tommy. They live in D.C. and Elizabeth had a meeting here in Atlanta. They stopped by and spent a day and night with us. We just hung around the house and enjoyed visiting with them. We wish we lived closer so that we could do this more often. They boys had so much fun playing with little Tommy. They broke Tommy in right. By the end of the visit, Tommy knew all about a light sabre. They all loved playing with the musical instruments. At one point all of us including the adults had to play an instrument, man was it loud. He is such a cute kid and a joy to be around! He is as sweet as he looks! The boys are sitting in here with me now as I post this and Walker just said, "I love tommy". How sweet! We can't wait to visit with them again!

Decorating our tree

We had so much fun decorating our tree. It seems that every year when we pull out our christmas lights for the tree most of the strands do not work. How is that possible. So we had to make a trip to our local Ace about 5 minutes before they closed to get more lights. They all worked and our tree looks beautiful. They boys love pulling out the ornaments and hearing the story behind each of them. My tree has no rhyme or reason but I can tell you where every single ornament came from or who it is from. They all have a special story that I love. I just love this time of year and all the traditions that we do as a family! I will post a pic of our tree in my Christmas post coming soon.....

Thanksgiving Weekend at Pop and Gran Jan's

Pop and the boys making a cake for Thanksgiving Dinner!

All the boys going down to the lake to help Pop fix his dock after a little tornado whipped through their neighborhood a few months ago.

One of our favorite things to do~ Ride the golf cart to feed the animals

Auntie Martha Jane and Henry were going to have a little quite time on the hammock until it broke and they both hit the ground. It was hilarious and I am glad that I was there to wittness it. I laughed so hard!

Boys still trying to fix the dock. Bless their hearts they were out there almost all day! The dock got pulled away during the storm.
Pop and Gran Jan taking the little boys on a bear hunt. One of their favorite things to do with them.

We all have so much fun when we get together! It was such a fun weekend and we are so thankful for such a wonderful family! We make some wonderful memories when we are all together!

Sight Word Hat Party

This was at Walker's Sight Word Hat Party. They do this 4 times a year. They recognize each student based on the sight words that they know. They get buttons depending on how many they know. Walker knows 100 sight words. He is doing so well and is reading quite a bit. He loves his school and I love how often they recognize the students for their hard work! Good Job Walker!

"Snowham, Batman, Bethlehem"

Henry aka Mr. Bethlehem

One day when Eric came home from work and was changing clothes, Henry thought that he would dress up as "Bethlehem" with daddy's clothes. There is never a dull moment in our house for sure!
