Walker's Birthday Day

On Walker's Birthday we took him to Stone Mountain.  We thought this would be a great way to spend his birthday.  Pop and Gran Jan got the boys a family year pass there this year.  The boys did Snow Mountain while Foster and I sat back and watched.  They loved the tubing!  They  also wanted to walk down the mountain.  This is something that they always want to do every time we go.  We ended the day taking Walker to dinner wherever he wanted to go.  He of course chose the Waffle House.  He loves that place. We then came home and ate cake.  He had a fun packed day for sure!  Walker said it was the best day ever!

So, I thought I had candles but ended up I didn't.  I found these candles in my drawer and they ended up working perfectly.  I thought since he was turning 7 he needed to do a little addition......this is what you call making it work with what you have.  It was pretty funny and Walker thought it was "cool".

Walker turns 7- December 30th, 2010

My first born is 7.  This is really hard to soak in.  It truly feels like a couple years ago I was blessed with this beautiful child.  7 years ago my life changed more than I could ever imagine.  I became a mama for the first time.  My dreams had finally came true!  Walker, you are one of the best gifts your dad and I have ever received.  Your smile lights up a room.  You are extremely smart and very logical.  You are reading big chapter books and you are excelling in first grade. You are very laid back for a 7 year old. You love to lay on the couch and watch TV or play the Wii. You love to play outside with your friends, and you love to play any kind of sports.  You are really enjoying basketball at the moment and you always want to go outside to "shoot hoops".  You are growing up way to fast and I am reminded daily that you are quickly becoming a big boy. We are very proud of the young boy you have and are becoming.  We love you so much!

Foster Curls his toes just like his daddy.  I actually have to prior them up for him to relax them.  It is hilarious looking!

Foster's First Christmas was a White Christmas

We had such a wonderful time spending Christmas day and a few days later at Mom and Dad's.  We had a great time relaxing and spending time with them.  We got wonderful gifts for Christmas!  The boys got a few little toys but their big gift was a year membership to Stone Mountain.  We will be spending a lot of our time there for sure.  Eric got a blue ray player and money, and I got some clothes, and my favorite cow girl boots. It was such a wonderful time!

We had a wonderful Christmas Day!  The boys loved everything that they got from Santa and a few of their favorites were things that they didn't even ask for.  Walker loves his light saber, guitar, and skateboard. Henry loved his guitar, pillow pet, and football men.  They couldn't get over that Santa even brought a few things that wasn't even on their list.  Foster loves his car mirror that plays music and lights up.  We enjoyed a morning at our house doing the Santa thing.  We hit the road at 10 to head up to Spartanburg to spend a couple of days. We headed straight to my Grandma Walker's for lunch and the proceeded to my Meme's for dinner.  It was a great day filled with family!  Christmas is such a special time!  We made great memories!

We love our little Christmas traditions that we have started with our children.  We have so much fun together on Christmas Eve.  I hope they will carry on some of these traditions to their own families one day, as many of these were carried on from my childhood and Eric's.  They were all so excited!
