Don't Go to Church Be the Church

Our church dedicates a couple of Sunday's a year to "Don't Go To Church, Be The Church".  There are several places with in our community that you can pick to go help with on that particular Sunday.  We chose to go to a nursing home.  We spent our Sunday morning there visiting with some of the residents and then we congregated in the dining hall for worship, singing, and a few games of Bingo.  It was a wonderful morning and the boys really enjoyed it.  They were so sweet to all the little people we visited.  We had a wonderful Sunday!

I know they appreciated that very much! They are lonely and love visitors. Great Job, Great Church.

I love all the pictures, but especially the last 2. My eyes watered. A round of applause to your church. If only everyone would take the time to "be the church."

It was a wonderful experience! To go visit these people is so very easy and it means the world to them. It is one of those things that you go in hopes to brighten their day and in return your day is just as much if not more brightened and blessed. It is a wonderful thing for the boys to be a part of as well. I think that our family will make many visits in our future!
